Xcellr8 – What a great weekend!

I’m not sure the team would have anticipated such a fabulous weekend in the run up to Xcellr8 2022 (12/13th Feb). So much seemed uncertain with new timings, programme, team and structural changes as well as the Covid situation hanging over the weekend.

BUT, prayers were answered as team and children were fit and healthy. The much-changed programme flowed wonderfully, and the children engaged brilliantly throughout… In addition, not one piece of lost property needs to be reunited with its owner!

Our four teaching sessions each investigated a different aspect of Jesus as the light of the world, with the aim of not only understanding Jesus as light in the world, but also seeing and experiencing the power that light can have in transforming our own lives.

Xcellr8’s aim is to combine fun, faith and friendship in bringing children together from the local area. There’s no doubt we had fun:

“Please would you pass on our thanks to the team. My girls had a brilliant time, they thoroughly enjoyed themselves, thought the games were amazing.”

New friendships were made:

“Thank you also to all of you involved in planning the weekend. (My daughter) had a wonderful time, made new friends, learnt new things, and is desperate to come again next year. “

And faith was very much at the centre of the weekend:

“(My son) also remembered lots of the teaching – explaining to us how Jesus is the light of the world so he is the one who can stop us from stumbling.”

Thank you to the team for being brilliant as usual, and to those who uplifted the weekend in prayer.
