We had a great time on the Xcellr8 weekend in February! Our theme was ‘Investig8’, where we investigated different aspects of who Jesus is.

Our Xcellr8 team was made up of several adults, 20 amazing young leaders and sixty-four 8-11 year olds and we all had a brilliant weekend!

Xcellr8 2020 was the usual mix of fun, friendship and faith and included games, swimming, small groups, sports hall activities, wide games as well as times of reflection, loads of great food, and up-front teaching sessions led by Tim Blake, John Hardwick, Nicola Grieves and Ruth Barry.

Here’s what one parent had to say:

I’m hoping you hear this all the time, but they absolutely LOVED the weekend. One of the comments they both made was that they felt it was somewhere they can be themselves….the freedom provided by Xcellr8 to express themselves was unique and significant.

It was great that they could connect with a few people they already knew, get attention from the leaders, enjoy the banter with the young leaders, engage in teaching and worship, and have a blast in all the activities. They have been repeating around the house the songs the enjoyed.

The contribution to their discipleship at this stage of their lives is IMMENSE …Oh and the food received RAVE reviews too.

Despite Esther only getting about 7 hours sleep across the two nights, the strangest thing happened. She has had a cold for about three months. She came back glowing and looking healthy. If that isn’t evidence of how the soul affects the body, I don’t know what is!
